<p>PURPOSE:To increase the exfoliation resistance of microorganisms by using a hydrophilic and water insoluble resin having an amino group or quaternary ammonium salt group which provides a cationic electric charge to particle surfaces by dissociating in water as a sticking carrier for the microorganisms. CONSTITUTION:The particles of the hydrophilic and water insoluble water and water-swellable resin having the amino group and/or quaternary ammonium salt group (e.g., a copolymer of the quaternary compd. of the dimethyl sulfuric acid of a dimethylaminoacrylate and acrylamide) are charged into a biological treatment tank and the electric charge is applied to the surface of the resin particles by dissociation to cation in the water. Such resin particles are maintained in the fluidized state in the biological treatment tank and the microorganisms are stuck to the resin particles, by which the microorganism films are formed and the org. waste water is treated. More specifically, the microorganisms are propagated by the contact with the org. waste water and the formation of the microorganism films is induced in a short period; in addition, the microorganism films having the large resistance force against the exfoliation from the resin surface by shearing force are formed.</p> |
