PURPOSE:To obtain a sealed lead-acid battery in which electrolyte leakage resistance is good and electrolyte pouring is easy by installing a notch which is used as an electrolyte pouring hole and a gas exhaust hole in the part, which is in contact with a plate-like synthetic resin body, of a container. CONSTITUTION:A plate group 1 comprising positive and negative plates to which formation is applied, a glass mat, and a separator, and an ABS resin plate 2 are placed between two sheets 3 of the composite resin of polypropylene and vinylidene chloride, which is acid resistant, heat adhesive, and soft. The resin sheets 3 are melt-bonded in a melt-bonding part 4 with a hot press to form a container comprising the resin sheets. Through-holes 6 are installed in portions, which are in contact with electrode posts of the positive and nega tive plates, of one of resin sheets, and a copper wire 7 is soldered to each electrode post, then melted material of sealing bodies 8 are dropped in the holes 6 and solidified to seal the holes 6. A notch 9 is installed in a part, which is in contact with the ABS resin plate 2, of one of resin sheets, and an electro lyte pouring tube is inserted into the notch 9 and a specified amount of dilute sulfuric acid is poured, then the notch 9 is sealed. |
