PURPOSE:To maintain high sensitivity and high reading accuracy even after ong-period preservation under environmental conditions of a severe temp., humidity, etc., by incorporating SiO and/or SiO2 into a recording layer contg. specific components so as to exist on the surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:In and GeSX (where x is the number within a 0<x<=2 range) are used as the material for the recording layer. The content of the In in the recoding layer is specified generally to 30-80wt% and the content of the GeSX generally to 10-50wt%. The recording layer contains further the SiO and/or SiO2 on the surface part thereof in such a manner that the same exists preferably on the surface of the recording layer in the form of a thin film. The recording layer is formed by forming the materials such as In and GeSX first on a substrate by a method such as vapor deposition, sputtering or ion plating, then providing the thin SiO and/or SiO2 film on the layer surface by a vapor deposition or sputtering method. |
