PURPOSE:To improve oil resistance and plasticity resistance, by providing a thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye being a fluorane compound represented by a specific general formula and a phthalamide represented by a specific general formula on a support. CONSTITUTION:A fluorane compound represented by formula I(wherein R1 and R2 are a 1-9C alkyl group, a 3-6C cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group or a 1-4 alkyl substituted phenyl group and R3 and R4 are a 1-16c alkyl group, a phenyl group or cycloalkane having a 5-8 membered ring) as a leuco dye and a phthalmide compound represented by formula II(wherein R5 is hydrogen or a 1-6 alkyl group and R6 is a 2-12C alkyl group or a phenyl group) as a coupler are compounded to prepare a coating solution which is, in turn, applied to base paper and dried to obtain a thermal recording material. |
