PURPOSE:An inexpensive flexible sound insulating material obtained by blending a vinyl chloride resin with a plasticizer, an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and/or an ethylene vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride terpolymer and iron concentrate slag prepared as a by-product in a copper refining process. CONSTITUTION:(A) 100pts.wt. vinyl chloride resin such as ethylene-vinyl chloride copolymer, vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride copolymer, etc., is blended with (B) 30-150pts.wt., preferably 50-100pts.wt. plasticizer, (C) 30-150pts.wt., preferably 50-100pts.wt. ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having 15-70wt%, preferably 30-60wt% vinyl acetate content and/or ethylene-vinyl acetate-vinyl chloride terpolymer having 30-60wt% ethylene-vinyl acetate content and (D) 400-2,000 pts.wt., preferably 600-1,200pts.wt. iron concentrate slag prepared as a by- product in a copper refining process to give a flexible sound insulating material. |
