PURPOSE:To remove the uncertainty of a photon incidence position by surely removing photon from a counted value when >=2 photons are inputted at the same time. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor detectors 5 are arrayed in a matrix of 4 x 4 and X- and Y-directional signal output parts 10 and 11 are connected to X- and Y-directional output lines. All channels of output lines of A/D conversion parts of the output parts 10 and 11 are short-circuited by the X and Y directions and the output lines are read out at the timing of clock pulses which are generated 2. Trigger pulses from X- and Y-directional trigger generators 16 and 17 are inputted to a counting circuit 23, AND operations as to all channels are performed at the timing of specific clock pulses, and the position where the AND output goes up to 'H' is recognized as a photon incidence position. Signal processing parts 21 and 22 adds signals when >=2 photons are inputted at the same time, so it is regarded as simultaneous counting and an error output is held at 'L'. The circuit 23 ANDs X-and Y-directional trigger signals with the outputs of the processing circuits 21 and 22 and counts a pulse only when the AND output goes up to 'H'.
