PURPOSE:To prevent the finish of an ink film during use, by providing a means for reading the number-of-sheet mark provided to an ink film to an ink film running path and displaying the remaining number of recordable sheets on the basis of the signal from said means. CONSTITUTION:A number-of-sheet mark showing the remaining number of recordable sheets is preset to the outside end part of the effective recording width of an ink film 4. When the ink film 4 is mounted to a recording apparatus to perform recording operation, the ink film 4 and transfer paper 3 pass the recording part of a recording head 1 and the ink of the ink film 4 is transferred to the transfer film 4 by the recording bead 1 to perform image recording. At this time, the above mentioned number-of-sheet mark passes between optical sensors 13a, 13b with the running of the ink film 4 and, by this mechanism, the remaining number of recordable sheets of the ink film 4 are detected to be displayed on a display device. By this method, an operator can prepare for the next ink film at an early stage. |
