The invention relates to a device making it possible to accumulate pressurised air in order to reinject it into the engine, when it is at low speed, and to supercharge it regardless of the engine speed, using supercharged air. It consists of a turbo-compressor 1 feeding an accumulation chamber 4 at a given pressure by virtue of a non-return shutter D and a bypass valve A. When the engine is at low speed, this chamber 4 supplies, as at high speed, a supercharged pressure by means of a regulation shutter B and a cut-off shutter C if the engine is equipped with one; if the engine is supercharged by another turbo-compressor 2 operating in conventional manner but in which the inlet of the pipe to the engine is equipped with a non-return shutter D, it is necessary only to provide a top-up. The device according to the invention is particularly intended for private sports cars equipped with turbocharged engines and motor sports competition vehicles. <IMAGE>
