PURPOSE:To prevent the side surface part of a heat generator from rising to high temp., by providing a plurality of heat generating elements each comprising a heat generating resistor having temp. coefficient of-3.0 X 10<-4>(deg<-1>) or less on a heat radiating plate provided with a partial glaze layer. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating resistor layer 14 and a current feed layer 15 are formed to a ceramic substrate 11 having a good heat radiating property provided with a partial glaze payer 12 and a protective film 16 is further formed to a heat generating part to constitute a thermal head. A plurality of heat generating parts are parallelly provided corresponding to dots. As the constitutional material of the heat generating resistor layer 14, a material having temp. coefficient of-3.0 X 10<-4> (dg<-1>) or less must be used. By this constitution, a steep temp. peak can be provided to the center part of a heat generator and the printing on rough paper can be performed efficiently. As embodiments of a heat generating resistor material, there are Ta-Si-C<1>, Cr-Si-O and Ta-Si-O etc. |
