A polymerizable beta-glycerophospholipid represented by the following formula I: <CHEM> wherein R and R' independently stand for an aliphatic hydrocarbon group possessing a polymerizable functional group and A stands for N<(+)>R<1> 3 (wherein R<1> stands for methyl group or ethyl group) or <CHEM> (wherein R<2> and R<3> independently stand for hydrogen atom, methyl group, or ethyl group).
