For the automatic coating of sausages with spice powder and prior wetting with adhesive liquid, spike holders are provided extending transversely to the direction of motion on a horizontally running conveyor belt, which spike holders are conducted to be vertically lowerable in widely overhanging support frames, attached to the conveyor belt, for the dipping and removal operation, the length of the station vessel receiving the coating composition roughly corresponding to the short horizontal path length which the spike holders cover in their dipping and removing operation carried out in one movement. |
