An actuating device for a sanitary single-lever mixer valve contains a fixing element which, after operation, prevents the movement of the mixer lever in one of the two directions of movement. This makes it possible for the user first of all to set the desired mixing temperature and then to hold the desired temperature by locking the actuating element. It is then no longer possible for the mixing temperature to be altered unintentionally.
