Television receiver for text transmission

The receiver has a memory (3) and a control unit (2) causing the memory to store a sequence of identification numbers about the information pages on receipt of a first signal from a command unit (1). The control unit calls up the ident numbers from the memory on receipt of a second signal from the command unit and passes them to a decoder (4). A page memory (5) can hold two pages. The control unit, when it receives from the command unit the second signal for the first time, passes to the decoder two consecutive groups of three of digits stored in the memory (3). The decoder selects the page corresponding to the first group of three digits and displays it on the screen. The second page is stored ready for immediate display when the second signal is received.
