A header for a harvesting machine comprises a frame (1), a cutterbar (2) operable to cut standing crop and mounted on the front of the frame (1), and a reel (5) also mounted on the frame (1) and operable to sweep crop material towards and over the cutterbar (2). The cutterbar (2) is adjustable relative to the frame (1) in a direction generally orthogonal to the transverse width of the header and is mounted therefore on the header frame (1) by a plurality of extensible and retractable members (19, 21) spaced along the cutterbar (2) and which are mechanically interconnected, whereby movement of one results in a substantially equal movement of the remainder.
