<p>Alpha-sialon-containing ceramics having the following composition (presented as nitrides or oxides): Si3N4: 82.0-97.4wt%, A N: 1.6-12.5wt%, Y2O3: 1.0-7.5wt%, MgO: xwt%, CaO: Ywt%, Li2O: zwt% (where 0 </= x,y,z </= 5,0.05 </= x + y + z </= 5) and substantially comprising a complex crystalline phase of alpha -sialon and beta -silicon nitrate, excellent in mechanical properties, can be produced with a high density according to an atmospheric pressure sintering process.</p> |
