<p>The trap comprises: - a chamber closed by a tube (1) at least one of whose ends is open but may be closed by a door (3, 4) joined by a hinge on one of its edges to said tube, and said door being held open, when the trap is in its set position, by a wire (13) acting against the force of at least one spring (20); - an electric circuit (29-32) incorporating at least one portion of said wire (13), a power supply (28), and a switch (26, 27) which is held open when the trap is in the set position and will close under the action of means (22, 25) activated by the animal to be trapped, said wire being designed to break through the effect of the current passing through it. Said means activated by the animal consist of a sliding bait support, the head of which (22) holds the bait (24) while its foot (25) bears elastically upon a strip (26) which forms one of the contacts of the switch while keeping it away from the other contact (27), so that any decrease in the weight applied to said head (22), when this weight becomes less than a predetermined threshold, brings about the elastic return of the strip (26) and closure of the electric circuit (29-32). <IMAGE></p> |
