PURPOSE:To obtain a carbon fiber electrode meterial having high efficiency and long charge-discharge life by using an acrylic carbon fiber structure having specified nitrogen content, BET relative surface area, and chlorine content as an electrode material. CONSTITUTION:An acrylic carbon fiber structure having a nitrogen content of 0.5-5wt%, a BET relative surface area of 15-60M<2>/g, and a chlorine content of 10 ppm or more is used as an electrode material for redox-flow type secondary battery. When this electrode material is used in the redox-flow type secondary battery, blockage of passage caused by powdering of the fiber in redox solution is prevented due to its large strength, and long continuous use is made possible, and low efficiency and short life of battery which are disadvantage of acrylic fiver are remarkably improved. Therefore, the redox-flow battery having high practicality which cannot obtain by conventional rayon electrode material can be obtained. |
