A composite DNA sequence consisting from its 5' end towards its 3' end of: a) the natural DNA sequence coding for the untranslated 5' end of the messenger RNA of the lactose operon of E. coli including the Shine and Dalgarno sequence; b) a DNA sequence which has the structure 5' AATTATGGCTACCGGCTCT 3'; c) the natural DNA sequence corresponding to the carboxy-terminal end of the signal peptide of hGH, counting from the sixteenth nucleotide constituent of the signal peptide. Application: production of the growth hormone.
