Disclosed is a solid-state imaging system with a vertical and/or horizontal window function, in which the vertical and/or horizontal scanning corresponding to unnecessary pick-up range of a camera subject (hatched portions of Fig. 8) is done with high rate or omitted by driving with high frequency or resetting a vertical and/or a horizontal scanning register.
