Process of thermonuclear fusion with the aid of particle beams, which is carried out in a reactor of annular type comprising three ion generating devices. Two of the beams (produced by the generators 3 and 5) move in the same direction but at different velocities, while the third beam (produced by the generator 4) moves in the opposite direction and its function is to remove the electrical charge from the other two beams to prevent particle scatter due to electrostatic repulsion. The three coaxial beams are contained in a magnetic system which holds them confined around their directional axis and moves them inside a sealed and evacuated storage ring 1. Application to the process of nuclear fusion employing ion beams. <IMAGE>
