PURPOSE:To prevent bending of a hoop in a post stage by giving an arc-shaped notch to each transverse end of the hoops spaced by a specific distance from the weld line thereby decreasing a difference in mechanical strength between the base metal part and the welded part. CONSTITUTION:The longitudinal end faces of hoops are butt-welded and arc- shaped notches 3 are provided at four points at the transverse ends of the hoop spaced by a distance l of 10-30% of the width from a weld line 1. The depth of each notch 3 is made preferably about 2-4 times the depth of the arc-shaped notches 2 provided at both ends of the weld line. The radius of curvature of each notch 3 is made preferably equal to or smaller than the radius of curvature of the notch 2. |
