PRODUCTION OF INTERNAL OXIDATION TYPE ALLOY AND MOLDING THEREOF

PURPOSE:To easily obtain an internal oxidation type alloy having required characteristics at a high speed even at a low temp. with good reproducibility by executing induction heating while acting the plasma generated in the presence of an oxygen-contg. gas on the alloy and oxidizing >=1 kinds of metal elements except the base phase metal selectively. CONSTITUTION:An alloy sample 3 which is produced by a melting method, etc., and in which the ratio of the total of metals except the base phase metal is within a prescribed range is held in the cavity position in a reaction tube 1 by using a plasma generator using a microwave introducing pipe 2 in such a manner that said alloy sample can be inductively heated. While the plasma generated in the presence of the gas of the compd. having oxygen and/or oxygen atom introduced into the reaction tube 1 is acted on the alloy, the induction heating is executed to oxidize >=1 kinds of metals except the base phase metal of the above-mentioned alloy selectively to form the internal oxidation type alloy. The dynamical strength is increased and the characteristics which maintain the high strength even at the high temp. near the m.p. of the base phase metal are imparted to the alloy by the above-mentioned oxidation treatment.
