PURPOSE:To calculate a characteristic degree which seems to be a specific color to execute natural color adjustment by executing chromatic adjustment corresponsing to the seeming of the specific color in a cpeicfic color area. CONSTITUTION:The three primary color values R, G, B are inputted two distance calculating means 32, 33 and respective distances D1, D2 are calculated on the basis of a quadratic equation and outputted to signal lines 34, 35. D1=max (R-G, O) and D2=max(R-B, O) are multiplied by a multipying means 36 and the square root is found out by an operating means 37. At that time, the characteristic degree sigma of red is outputted to a signal line 38. R-G=0 or R-B=0 forms the border surface 50 of the specific color area and sigma=0. The surfaces forming sigma=64, 128, 192 are shown by 54, 55, 56 and correspond to the one side of a hyperbolic curve regarding the section of the border surface 50 as an asymptote. When DELTAR=1/3, DELTAG=1/3 and DELTAB=0 are set up as the compensating values, R'=R+1/3sigma, G'=G+1/3sigma and B'=B are formed. Since the color is changed in accordance with the characteristic degree even in the specific color range, the color is moderately adjusted. |
