Femoral part for hip prosthesis, of the type comprising a tail 2 whose section narrows progressively from its upper part to its tip. It is characterised in that the tail 2 is of quadrilateral cross-section and comprises at its upper part and on at least each of its larger opposite faces a series of transverse grooves 5 with wolf-teeth undulations whose slope increases from the top part of the tail towards its bottom part, which are perpendicular to the longitudinal axis 6 of the tail 2, the series of grooves 5 being followed as far as the tip of the tail by a series of longitudinal grooves 7 made on all four faces of the tail. <IMAGE>
