The present invention relates to a ski brake. This ski brake is characterised in that the anchoring small blade 5 of the spade 2 is mounted with free rotation, while being held axially, about the outer end portion 4a of the arm 4 of the spade 2 which supports it, and linking means 8 are provided between the small blade 5 and the boot-on bearing so as to cause this small blade 5 to turn on the arm of the spade when the latter is displaced between its active and inactive positions and vice versa, such that, between the active and inactive positions of the spade 2, the plane of the anchoring small blade 5 performs a rotation of approximately 90 DEG with respect to the portion 4a of the arm 4 which carries it. <IMAGE>
