Novel compounds of formula (I): <IMAGE> wherein R, is H, C1-6 alkyl, C3-7 cycloalkyl, phenyl, or phenyl (C1-4) alkyl, R2 and R3 are independently H or C1-3 alkyl, R4 and R5 are independently H, C1-3 alkyl or 2-propenyl; A is -CO- or -SO2-, n is 2 to 5, provided that R1 is not H when A is -SO2-, and physiologically acceptable salts and solvates e.g. hydrates thereof have potent and selective vasoconstrictor activity and are indicated as useful for the treatment of migraine. Intermediates of formula II <IMAGE> are also claimed. |
