An analog/digital converter having a number of threshold circuits depending on the necessary bit resolution, the inputs of these threshold circuits being fed the analog signal to be digitized and the digitized signal being available at their outputs. The inputs of the threshold circuits are preceded by a modulator circuit in which the analog signal to be digitized is modulated by amplitude modulation upon a carrier frequency stable in frequency.
