PURPOSE:To perform disengagement of a gear smoothly by arranging a valve means for driving an actuator from a position of a smaller action force side to a neutral position thereby retaining the actuator at the neutral position after controlling the valve means. CONSTITUTION:When a gear disengagement is performed, a shift stroke position is judged by a shift stroke sensor for sensing the shift stroke position whether it is on the shift side or neutral side relative to a set value. In the case it is on the shift side, firstly only one solenoid valve V1 is actuated to drive a shift actuator 1 with a greater disengagement force. Then a 2nd solenoid valve V2 is actuated to retain a neutral position. With this arrangement, a smooth gear disengagement can be performed as the disengagement is performed with a sufficient force.
