<p>PURPOSE:To discharge recording paper without generating tears of recording paper, dirt of a fixing roller or a press roller, or reduction of device life by using a 1st position in case of printing and a 2nd position in case of maintenance. CONSTITUTION:When a jam is generated in a carrier system, an upper chassis 20 is rotated around a shaft 22 to form a state for executing maintenance. Since the upper chassis 20 does not press a push rod 19 at that time, a supporting member 17 is rotated by the dead weight of a press roller 16, a shaft 15 is abutted upon a hole 9a and stopped, so that the press roller 16 is separated from a fixing roller 10. Consequently, the recording paper 5 is not held between the fixing roller 10 and the press roller 16 and the recording paper, dirt on the rollers 10, 16 or reduction of the device life.</p> |
