PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain a toner which permits easy control of an average grain size and has an extremely narrow grain size distribution by incorporating a dispersion stage consisting in projecting ultrasonic waves to a dispersion stabilizer in a liquid dispersion medium to the titled method. CONSTITUTION:Toner particles are formed by projecting the ultrasonic waves to the liquid dispersion medium contg. the fine powder dispersion stabilizer to disperse the dispersion stabilizer into said medium, dispersing and suspending a monomer compsn. contg. at least a polymerizable monomer and coloring agent in the liquid dispersion medium dispersed with the dispersion stabilizer by the dispersion stage, granulating the compsn. and subjecting the granulated monomer compsn. to a suspension polymn. The fine powder dispersion stabilizer which as the sharp grain size distribution and improved dispersion stabilizing capacity is thereby made to exist on the particle surface of the monomer compsn. by which the monomer compsn. particles having the desired grain size is selectively stabilized and the sharp grain size distribution of the monomer compsn. particles is formed. |
