PURPOSE:To obtain a sizing die for a plastic molding machine reduced in plate- out or contamination and excellent in abrasion resistance, by using ceramics containing 40wt% or more of zirconia. CONSTITUTION:A sizing die may be constituted of ceramics as a whole or may have such a structure that ceramics containing 40wt% or more of zirconia is used only in a part coming into contact with plastic, and the other part is formed with a metal case to be supported along with the ceramics part by shrinkage fit, adhesion or caulking. The thickness of the ceramics part may be 0.1-5mm. The ceramics part of the sizing die must contain 40wt% or more of zirconia and may comprise only a zirconia sintered body or may comprise a zirconia composition mixed with up to 60wt% of other ceramics. When the content of zirconia is 40wt% or more, the non-compatibility with plastic possessed by zirconia is kept and trouble due to plate-out and contamination can be reduced. |
