PURPOSE:To decrease the kinds of components of a device in number and to make production control advantageous by providing one magnetic sensor with plural sensor element groups which differ in array pitch according to resolution and providing connection terminals to the respective sensor element groups individually. CONSTITUTION:For example, when the magnetic sensor 1 provided with an element group of sensor elements 2 with array pitch P' and an element group with array pitch P is used in combination with a magnetic drum having magnetization pitch 4P', connecting terminals 3 of the element group with the array pitch P' are connected to a waveform shaping circuit 6 and when the sensor is used in combination with a magnetic drum with magnetization pitch 4P, connecting terminals of the element group with the array pitch P are used similarly. Consequently, the kinds of components are decreased in number at the time of the mass-production of an encoder with different resolution, thereby improving the production control. |
