PURPOSE:To improve the electromagnetic conversion output and to perform good recording and reproducing by annealing a chip subjected to slicing work to relax the stress or the work strain of a glass. CONSTITUTION:After grooves which prescribe a track width are provided on surfaces facing each other of a pair of cores 1 and 2 one of which a winding groove 2a is formed in, these cores are allowed to abut each other with a nonmagnetic thin film and a glass between them and are allowed to adhere to each other with the glass 3 and are reinforced, and they are sliced after a prescribed work to obtain a chip single substance (magnetic head chip) 10. It is annealed after the slicing work. Thus, the electromagnetic conversion characteristic of the chip is improved to perform good recording and reproducing.
