PURPOSE:A special bulky yarn, consisting of modified cross-section hollow fiber having plural projections with outer tip thereof branched into plural parts and capable of giving a extremely bulky carpet having extremely excellent durability without deteriorating bulkiness in use. CONSTITUTION:A specical bulky yarn of cross section having >=1 hollow portions having plural projection portions extending radially outward from the center and having plurally branched tips. The yarn is obtained by spinning through a spinneret consisting of >=3 slits 1-3 for forming the hollow portion, slits 4-6 for forming projection, which are between two respective slits 1-3 and extending radially towards the outside of the slit from the inside of the slit and portions 7-9 branched into plural parts at the tip thereof.
