PURPOSE:To make it possible to use a continuous form paper and slip papers in combination and to prevent the continuous form paper from slackening, by changing the circumferential velocity of a platen on low levels, and rotating the platen at a circumferential velocity higher than a normal paper-feeding velocity in the case of printing the continuous paper. CONSTITUTION:A continuous form paper 1 is pressed against a platen 6 by a paper bail 7 and a pressure roller 8. The platen 6 is driven by a belt 10 fitted to a paper-driving motor 9, and a tractor 2 is connected to the platen 6 through gears 11, 12. The gear ratio of a tractor gear 13 to a platen gear 14 is so set that the paper feed quantity by the platen 6 is larger than that by the tractor 2 by about several per cent. Accordingly, the continuous form paper 1 is prevented from slackening. A slip 16 is fed while being clamped by a slip roller 17 and the platen 6. In this case, the driving motor 9 is controlled through such a switching that the rotation quantity of the platen 6 is equivalent to a predetermined feed quantity of the slip 16.
