PURPOSE:To efficiently transmit a telop, character graphic information, etc., to a TELETEXT decoder at a high speed by receiving a TELETEXT signal sent from a TELETEXT sending means with a TELETEXT reveiver and outputting a video signal. CONSTITUTION:A commercial TELETEXT receiver comes to be the condition that a program number '0' is requested, automatically immediately after the electric power source is turned off. Consequently, when character picture data completed by an uncollective signal page are sent with the program number '0' by a TELETEXT transmission means 8, the data is received automatically by a TELETEXT receiver 10, the video output of an image is obtained at an output terminal 11, a sound output is obtained at an output terminal of 12, and the character picture such as the telop accompanied with sound and character news can be sent. In the transmission specifications of the TELETEXT, the bit rate of the data is 5.73 Mbps and the data of 34 bytes can be overlapped at the data part at one section of the horizontal scanning period. Thus, since 34 bytes are obtained per one field, when averaged for one second, 34 bytes X 60 frames 8 bits 16 Kbps is obtained and the high speed data transmission of about 16 Kbps can be executed.
