PURPOSE:To measure radiation exposure covering a wide area by composing a detecting layer consisting of high polymer or rubber added with an additional conductive substance and providing a detecting cable provided with at least one or more conductors which are in an internal layer or contact with a surface of said layer. CONSTITUTION:The detecting layer 1 consists of the high polymer or the rubber added with the additional conductive substance such as carbon black, etc., and has negative changing of resistance depending on the exposure. At least one or more conductors 2 are provided in an internal part of the detecting layer 1 or in a conducting surface of the detecting layer 1, the detection of the exposure is executed by measuring the resistance between the conductors or between the conductors and the detecting layer surface. Prior to the detection of the exposure, a measuring curve is prepared which finds the relation between the resistance of detecting cable and the exposure. Then the detecting cable is fixed with an adequate method at a place where the exposure is to be detected. Measuring the resistance after radiation by means of general measuring instruments such as digital multi-meter, etc., the exposure such as electron rays or gamma rays, etc., which covers the wide area is thereby simply measured.
