PURPOSE:To reduce the transmission time between a host processor and a terminal equipment located at a remote distance by providing a system wherin a remote station adaptor replies the host processor in place of the terminal equipment and the terminal controller replies the terminal equipment in place of the host processor. CONSTITUTION:The remote station adaptor 3 connected to the channel 2 of the host processor 1 is provided with a command chain detector 13 identifying a command chain to set the flag of a flag means 32 and a transmission control means 34. When the flag is set, a high speed reply signal instructing high speed reply is sent to the means 34. Further, a memory device 34 is accessed by the address of the terminal equipment in the signal sent from the channel 2 to read a flag stored in storage sections 361, 362. Then an output obtained by giving the flag to the inverting input of an AND circuit 37 is fed to the transmission controller 34 as a high speed reply instruction signal via an OR circuit 33.
