PURPOSE:To improve the retrieving speed of the data recorded in adding type optical disk media by retrieving the information accumulated in Direct-Read- After write (DRAW) with recorded control information. CONSTITUTION:An optical disk sub-system with a DRAW type optical disk is composed of an optical disk control device (OLU)4, an optical disk driving device (ODU)3 or an optical disk library device (OLU)4, a rewritable recording area 12 formed at a part of DRAW type optical disk media 10 supplies the control area corresponding to a special data area, and even when the data are added and corrected, the point of the new data area can be executed by correcting the control area. Namely, when the instruction of the retrieving is received from a CPU1 through a channel, the ODC2 drives the ODU3 or the OLU4, the retrieving of the control information written in a rewritable recording area 12 of the loaded DRAW type optical disk media 10 is executed at a high speed and the data recorded in a DRAW type recording area 11 are retrieved in accordance with the retrieved control information.
