<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the sudden start of a vehicle by equipping the vehicle with an emergency electronic control device for the backup of a main electronic control device, and controlling a clutch to be 'OFF' when the speed of the vehicle is below a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:When a key switch has been turned 'ON' and voltage has been applied to a main electronic control device 13 and an emergency electronic control device 17, the main electronic control device 13 generates a signal for the diagnosis thereof and first outputs the signal toward the emergency electronic control device 17. Then, the device 17 reads the diagnosis signal and makes judgement as to whether the signal is normal or abnormal. Also, when the signal is abnormal, judgement is made as to whether the speed of a vehicle is less than a predetermined value or not. When the speed is below the predetermined value, the emergency electronic control device 17 actuates an emergency solenoid valve V3, thereby turning a clutch 'OFF'. According to the aforesaid constitution, control for turning the clutch 'OFF' is made depending upon the speed of the vehicle, when the main electronic control device 13 has failed. Therefore, the sudden start of the vehicle against a driver's intention can be prevented.</p> |
