PURPOSE:To detect the disconnection of the exciting winding or the wiring of a resolver by comparing a voltage obtained by amplifying, rectifying and integrating the output of a current detector for detecting current flowing in the exciting winding of the resolver, with a set voltage. CONSTITUTION:A sine-wave generated by an oscillator P is supplied to a resolver 17 and sine-wave current flow in the exciting winding of the resolver 17. At this time, the output of a current detector connected between the oscillator P and the resolver 17 becomes a sine-wave, which is, after amplified by an amplifier circuit 19 and rectified by a rectifying circuit 20, integrated by an integrating circuit 21 to become a constant DC voltage. However, when no current flows in the resolver 17 due the disconnection of the exciting winding of the resolver 17 or of a wiring of the exciter of the resolver 17, the rectifying circuit 20 becomes 0V and the output of the integrating circuit 21 is reduced below a voltage set to a comparator 22, so that said disconnection is detected by the comparator 22.
