PURPOSE:To obtain a strong vertical magnetic field as a recording magnetic field, and to execute a good recording by generating from a second core a magnetic field for suppressing an expansion of width of a magnetic field which is generated toward a medium from a first core at the time of recording. CONSTITUTION:It is supposed that in a sliding surface 6 of an inner core 1, the N pole is excited in the left side part from glass 7 of a gap, and the S pole is excited in the right side part. In this case, to coils 3, 4, the same recording signal current is impressed, therefore, in a tip surface 8 of the core 1, the N pole is excited in the left side part, and the S pole is excited in the right side part. In this state, a magnetic field which is generated toward a recording surface of a magnetic recording medium 5 from the sliding surface 6 is apt to expand its width in the outside direction being parallel to the recording surface of the medium 5 as it is separated from the sliding surface, if its state continues. However, its expansion is suppressed by a repulsion by the same polarity as that of a magnetic field of an outer core 2 in both outsides. Accordingly, a strong vertical magnetic field is obtained as a recording magnetic field which is generated in accordance with a recording signal from the core 1. |
