PURPOSE:To provide a titled cooling pipe which prevents the rise of the average cooling water temp. in a cylindrical body and improves cooling power by the constitution in which respectively draining ports for discharging cooling water are provided on the top and bottom side surfaces of the cylindrical body of the cooling pipe to improve the displacement rate of the cooling water in the cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:A cooling pipe 1 ejects cooling water toward the inside of a horizontally disposed cylindrical body 2 from annular nozzles 9 provided at both ends of the body 2 concentrically with the axial center of the body 2, discharges simultaneously said water from guide parts 5, 6 at both ends of the body 2, draining pipes 7, 8 provided on the top and bottom side surfaces, etc. to fill the cooling water in the body 2 and cools a wire rod body 10 such as a wire rod, steel bar or the like, traveling in said cooling water along the axial central part of the body 2. Said ports 7, 8 are provided by >=1 piece to such cooling pipe and the relation between the total sectional areas A1 and A2 of the ports 8 and 7 is set at A2>A1. The effective displacement rate of the cooling water is thus maintained high and the cooling power is improved. |
