PURPOSE:To protect a specimen from a damage at sealing work for sticking a cover piece on the top of a slide glass, by feeding the cover piece onto the top of the slide glass at the same speed as the feeding speed of the slide glass. CONSTITUTION:A feed roller 45 is turned by a proper angle of rotation to match the length of a cover piece 2 necessary for sticking it on the top of a slide glass and the cover piece 2 is cut off with a cutter 5 to be fed downward by a feed roller 50. Then, when a slide glass 8 with the specimen stuck thereon is fed, an oscillating arm 54 is oscillated upward to rise the feed roller 50, so that the cover piece 2 is pushed upward by an elastic roller 49 as given an elastic force by the resilience of a tension spring. This allows the top of the cover piece 2 to get in contact elastically with the undersurface of a feed roller 51 rotating synchronously with the feeding of the slide glass and thus, the cover piece 2 is sent onto the top of the slide glass at the same speed as the feeding speed of the slide glass to stick.
