PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity and to decrease pressure fogging by forming silver halide particles of monodisperse particles having the structure in which a coating layer is provided on a seed crystal, controlling the grain size of said seed crystal and incorporating an adequate ratio of AgI into the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide photographic sensitive material consists of a base and at least one hydrophilic colloid layer contg. the silver halide particles on said base. The silver halide particles are the monodisperse particles having the structure in which the coating layer is provided on the seed crystal. The highest sensitivity is obtd. when the grain size of the seed crystal is at 20-58% of the final grain size. The high sensitivity is obtd. by incorporating at least 5mol% AgI into the silver halide particles of the coating layer. |
