PURPOSE:To reduce the width of a reproducing device by constituting the titled device so that a disk inserting and holding mechanism can use a turntable in the same way as a rail, in a part of its running path. CONSTITUTION:Rails 250, 251 are placed so as to be connected to the periphery of a turntable 130. Also, height of the rails 250, 251 is constituted in the same way as the upper face of the turntable 130. In such a state, a roller 93 is attached to a disk inserting and holding mechanism 90, so that it runs on the rails 250, 251, and the turntable 130. In such a way, in the course of its run, the disk inserting and holding mechanism 90 passes through on the turntable 130. Accordingly, between a pickup unit 120 and the turntable 130, a space where the rail passes through is not required.
