PURPOSE:To easily unify sentence termination expressions of a sentence by providing a dictionary which contains words whose endings are to be converted and a word ending conversion table. CONSTITUTION:The dictionary contains word endings of words whose word endings are to be converted by vowels 'a'-'u' and stored with word length, a part of speech, junctions to previous words, inflection, and sentence termination additional character strings for each word. The word ending conversion table 12 is stored with inflection processes of the object words of word ending conversion by the parts of speech, types, and inflection information. An analytic processing part 8 copies a character string inputted to an input buffer 7 to an output buffer 10 and retrieves the part of speech of, inflection information on, and word ending additional character string of an objective word in order from the tail of the character string by retrieval based upon a longest length coincidence method. When the retrieval ends in success, the part of speech of, inflection information on, and ending additional character string of the objective words are extracted. A conversion processing part 9 refers to the ending conversion table on the basis of the part of speech of the objective words of ending conversion obtained by the processing part 8 to obtain ending conversion information, thereby converting the ending of the objective words in an output buffer 10.
