1. A method of erecting boxes or crates made of cardboard from blanks (F) which are folded and stored flat against one another in a magazine (10), with the blanks being extracted from the magazine one by one, with a blank then being successively opened by being unfolded, squared up, and then closed at the bottom by interconnecting longitudinal and transverse flaps (V1 , V2 ), with the box formed in this way then being removed, the method being characterized in that after a blank has been taken from the magazine, it is unfolded level with said magazine by causing two adjacent panels of the blank to pivot relative to each other while the blank is kept level with said magazine by one of the panels being held fast while the other is pivoted, and in that the set of operations comprising extraction from the magazine, erecting, closure of the bottom, and removal of the closed box, is performed along a displacement path for the blank and then for the box, which path is substantially U-shaped in plan. |
