PURPOSE:To prevent a metallic conduit from deforming by attaching a permanent magnet piece to a surface of rotor core, securing a metallic conduit through shrink fitting to the outer periphery of said magnet piece and thereafter forming the permanent magnet and others into an integral body through die casting. CONSTITUTION:A motor element 2 and a rotary compressor element 4 driven by a rotating shaft 3 of said motor element are respectively housed within a closed vessel 1. The motor element 2 is composed of a stator 5 and a rotor 7. To manufacture said rotor 7, a plurality of permanent magnet pieces are attached by adhesive to a surface of rotor core 8, a non-magnetic material metallic conduit 10 is secured by shrink fitting to the outer periphery of said permanent magnet pieces 9 and thereafter the rotor 7 is die cast-formed by a casting mold. In this case, the metallic conduit 10 is formed longer than the axial rotor core 8. Thus, no conductive metal exists between the permanent magnet piece 9 and the metallic conduit 10 when the rotor 7 is operated. Therefore, it is possible to suppress generation of eddy-current loss and to prevent deterioration of torque.
