<p>PURPOSE:To enable a tab position to be set speedily and easily, by automatically correcting the tab position to a distance of an integer times a specified pitch from the position of a left margin, in an information output device such as an electronic typewriter and a word processor. CONSTITUTION:A specified pitch, a left margin and a tab position are designated by designating means (a), (b), (c), and it is discriminated by a discriminating means (d) whether the distance from the left margin to the tab position is an integer times the specified pitch. When the distance is not an integer times the specified pitch, a correcting means (e) corrects the position of the tab position to a position at a distance of an integer times the specified pitch from the left margin. Based on the tab position thus corrected, outputting of input information is controlled by a controlling means (f). Accordingly, it is unnecessary to manually reset the tab position to the position at a distance of an integer times the specified pitch from the left or right margin, so that a margin setting operation can be performed easily and speedily.</p> |
